Vin Scully

One thing I will say is that it is soothing to here the voice of Vin Scully. No matter how bad life is, no matter how much turmoil surrounds you, there is still something magical every time you hear Vinny say "It's time for Dodger Baseball." It brings you back to your childhood, it bring you back to happier times when you were out in the backyard in the summer months with a wiffle ball and bat swinging for the fences pretending your backyard was Dodger Stadium and you were Pedro Guerrero. It brings me back to family trips to Dodger Stadium and the one thing my parents and I shared a love of: the Dodgers. Being born in Los Angeles and my parents transplants from Pittsburgh, we didn't have many things in common. The Dodgers were that one thing. It was the one unifying thing we shared. Hearing this voice and listening to a Dodger game allows me to be a kid again for three hours a night. It brings me back to seventh inning stretches with me on my dad's shoulders and the family singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame."

Thank you Vinny, for allowing me to be a kid again for 162 days a year, even if just for a bit.
